"Forming a heart"
acrylic, ink, paper collage, thread, pencil
40"x28" framed
September 2011
I like to play with the style of a figure and how it relates to the expressions. At first, reflection was my idea of heart. The forming of a mutual whole from polar opposites. And balance toward this greater whole. This resulted in two characters: a fire dance and a blue calm resting subtly into the background. It is also common for me to paint circular shapes or heart shapes loosely.
